Day Trips (Far North Queensland)

Make Your Own Adventure now offers spectacular guided day trips in Far North Queensland, leaving from Lucinda, Forrest Beach or Ingham.

You need only bring yourself, some sturdy walking shoes and a camera – these intimate tours for 3-4 people at a time are taken in Gus’s own vehicle, and are fully catered with a picnic / barbecue lunch.

Make Your Own Adventure daytrips are catered to your interests, and your tour can be tailored to include waterfalls, extinct volcanoes, cassowary spotting, off-road exploring, and rainforest drives such as the Kirrama Range drive – the prettiest rainforest drive in Australia.

If hiking is your thing, Gus can take you right to the best spots for a short walk, and guide you to a swimming hole to cool down afterwards. If you’d prefer to fish or camp, that’s not a problem – the tours can be extended overnight as Gus takes you to the best places only locals know about.

Make Your Own Adventure daytrips are run when you want to go, and include a full days (12 hour) tour. Acting as your own personal tour guide, Gus runs keeps these tours small, so you get the most out of the experience. A day tour will include a maximum of 3-4 people at a time.

Start: Forrest Beach

Gus will meet you at a pre-arranged pick-up point at the start of the day.

First Stop: Wallaman Falls via Karrima Range

First you’ll head off to Girringun National Park, along the Karrima Range rainforest drive, to view the magnificent Wallaman Falls – the highest, permanent single-drop waterfall in Australia. If you’re feeling adventurous, you cam=n choose to hike down to the bottom of the falls, while Gus prepares a barbeque lunch.
